Behind the Scenes:
To start this waterlogged look we sealed off the eyeball area with seran wrap, covered the precious eyebrows with vaseline and laid down our forms in cotton latex.
NEXT was base paint.No need to get to specific at this point, just big blocks of general colour will do.
PUTRIFICATION??? no prob..we've got a green for that. Also time to rat up the cotton a bit so it's more like rot.
This is homemade scarwax. Super simple equal parts flour and vaseline. Lovely to carve out smaller shapes.
Along with the scarwax it was time to get seashelled
What pirate has time to keep a tidy beard on the high seas?? NONE WE KNOW. Next came the hair laying.
But that beard was far too shiny and straight, so we tussled it up with latex for that grungy feel.
DRINK BREAK before all the final touches of algae paint and a layer of glycerin were added. The model is still happy as she doesn't realize this look is going to be taking a bath pretty soon for ALL THE REALISM. Happy weekend to you all our there. Hope you enjoyed our unfortunate sailor look!
